Closing Out a Fruitful Year: More to Do

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him’” (Lamentations 3:22-24).

God’s mercies have been great this year, but there is still so much need in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The Lord always provides what we need—often through the kindness and helpfulness of others. Families, pastors, and churches in these countries are struggling. They consistently rely on God’s provision and are grateful for all the help we can provide.

God’s steadfast love, eternal faithfulness, and renewed mercies are excellent reminders to dwell on. I’ve been reflecting on how Jesus’ birth brought love, hope, and peace to a troubled world. We long for those qualities just as the Israelites did thousands of years ago.

I am thankful that this year we’ve been able to offer the Lord’s hope and mercy to those struggling in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

  • We’ve encouraged and brought hope to pastors and church leaders through training and retreats in Armenia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and Karakalpakstan.

  • We have offered fresh, clean water to villages in Karakalpakstan by providing wells and filter systems.

  • Orphans and foster children are experiencing peace, joy, and love in Belarus because of the generosity of friends who support our ministry.

  • In Lagadochi, Georgia, we have nearly completed constructing a church located 2 kilometers from the Russian and Azerbaijan border.

  • In Armenia, we are providing hope and love to refugees who recently were forced from their homes in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Armenia. Our outreach to the many villages throughout Armenia also continues to offer hope, peace, joy, and love.

There are still many needs these wonderful people have.

Because of their poverty and the high value of the US dollar in their countries, even small donations go a long way—and more people will receive the Gospel of eternal life. as we are able to help these churches.

There is PEACE in knowing that God uses people to help provide for their brothers and sisters in the church. All we’ve accomplished this year has been possible because of caring friends like you. Words are insufficient to express my thanks and appreciation to you, adequately.

Yet there is so much more—conflict, hardships, suffering, and often despair. I wish it could end, but my HOPE is in the Lord as my portion—as the portion for all of His people.

As we rapidly approach the end of this year, please remember the thousands of Christians in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Your gift is most helpful, and a tangible expression of HOPE in the Lord’s provision and “portion.”

Thank you for extending LOVE, HOPE, JOY, and PEACE to our pastors, leaders, and fellow churches in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. You can conveniently make your donation at richardparrish.com.
